Rome – The Eternal City
The Eternal City is an eternal epic written on the rich history, culture, and religion of Roman. Located on the confluence of the river Aniene and the river Tiber, in the central-western portion of the Italian peninsula, Rome was founded by Romulus in 753 B.C.
The present Rome is the capital and largest city of Italy, the capital of Latium, and the capital of the province of Rome. Rome is also the see of the pope – Vatican City – the holy kingdom is located within Rome. Created in 1929 by the Lateran Treaty, the Vatican City is the sovereign territory of the Holy See and smallest nation in the world is enclave of Rome. Rome is often dubbed as “threshold of the Apostles” because of the Vatican City, which widely popular destination for spiritual and exotic vacation.
Rome is also known as the “City of Seven Hills,” as geographically the Seven Hills are located east of the Tiber form the heart of Rome. Rome, being one of the greatest cultural, religious, and intellectual hubs of the world, is often dubbed as the “Capital of the World.” Rome is also known as the “City of Love.”

Rome enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate. It enjoys temperate- mild, rainy winters from September to mid-May, and hot & dry summers from May to September. Rome is at its most comfortable from April through June, and from mid-September to October. August marks the vacation time in Rome; most of the Roman people shut up their shops and go on their own vacations, and many shops and stores are closed during this time. The temperature in the city centre at this time of year is not particularly pleasant.

Leonardo da Vinci International Airport and Ciampino International Airport are two main air entryways to Rome. Located in Fiumicino, 34 km from Rome's historic city center, Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is the largest international airport of Italy. Leonardo da Vinci Airport, also known as Rome-Fiumicino International Airport, is hub of the Italian flag carrier, Alitalia. Getting most of the international flights, the airport has well organized and connected public transportation network.
The Ciampino International Airport, located 15 km southeast of central Rome at Ciampino, is a joint civilian, commercial and military airport near Rome in Italy. The Airport is small, but the busiest. The airport is hub of most of the discount airlines in Europe. The airport is closer to the city center, but hasn’t direct train connection.
